Spunj is a high energy, multi-genre four-piece based out of Eugene, Oregon. Using their diverse musical backgrounds and tastes, Spunj believes in making their live shows not just a musical performance, but an experience. The band incorporates classic songwriting with sections of improvisation to seamlessly weave from genre to genre while keeping the energy high and always danceable. Since 2019, the band has toured the Pacific Northwest relentlessly growing from playing bars and college parties to playing established and respectable venues and festivals and opening for major jam acts such as Spafford, Eggy, Twiddle, Lespecial, Cycles, and Yak Attack. The quartet has also released a full length studio album that is available on all major streaming platforms such as Spotify, iTunes and Bandcamp. Spunj plans to tour heavily in the West Coast with intentions to break out further into the United States.

Sage McCommas
27, Austin TX - Sage “Big Hoss” McCommas attended Humboldt State University majoring in music and has incorporated his knowledge into the music of spunj since the beginning. McCommas plays a very big role in the band as the drummer, he is our “ROCK”.

Josh Harris
29, Philadelphia, PA - Josh aka “Big Hoss” traveled west with nothin but a knapsack and a stick and met Sage at a job presented by some close friends. Bonding over their love of music and all things heady the duo started Spunj with stars in their eyes.

David Richards
27, Cottage Grove, OR - “Big Hoss” Richards rose from the ashes like a Phoenix, saxophone and bass in hand piping hot and letting loose some of the finest grooves known to exist. He literally has to have a handlers’ license for his saxophone because his skills are so lethal. Also he has one of the sweetest and cutest dogs ever.

Dan Underkofler
29, Fairfield, CT - Dan is the newest keyboard/guitar player in the Spunj lineup. Big Hoss or, Daniel moved to Seattle in 2015 on a whim after leaving college in New Orleans, LA with only music on his mind. His favorite animal is a penguin, and his favorite food is the $2 grilled cheese from that guy on phish lot in 2016 at the gorge, do you remember that guy? He was at the dead shows too! I hope he’s ok…

Chase Alexander
22, Chicago, IL - Chase moved out west with only a soundboard and a passion for wrapping cables. Chase, affectionally known as “Big Hoss”, has been making the sounds good and the mix clear for all. Without him every room in the universe would be untuned. He is truly a vital part of the Spunj Operation.
